Е. В. White (1899 — 1985) is a well-known American writer of our century, famous for his stories for children and grown-ups.
He is notable for his style and humour in his contributions to the New Yorker magazine, in books (Stuart Little, Charlotte’s Web), and in light verse.
Stuart Little is a fantastic story about a brave mouse, the smallest citizen of New York who has a lot of adventures during his travel about New York City and about the country.
E.B.White’s other famous book is Charlotte’s Web. It is the story of a kindhearted little girl named Fem who saves the life of a very small and very lucky pig named Wilbur. It is also the story of Charlotte, the beautiful gray spider who lives with Wilbur in the barn and who becomes his best friend. For years E.B.White’s charming tale of friendship and adventure has been a favourite book for children.
